
Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, and assassinated on April 15, 1865. Lincoln was a lawyer, politician, and statesman who became the 16th United States of America president. Lincoln was the unionist leader during the American Civil war. He managed to preserve the union and abolish slavery. Lincoln was an extraordinary speaker and inspires Americans today with his speeches and quotes. The Lincoln Memorial in Washington was erected in his memory on May 30, 1922.
